Medieval Workshops

On 17 and 18 October, your visit to Peñíscola Castle will be something different. Join our hands-on workshops for the whole family. Children and adults can make their own medieval wax seal and a magic wand, try traditional leatherwork, and find out how colours were used to dye fabric in the Middle Ages. The workshops are included in your castle admission.

Papa Luna's Castle

Built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, Peñíscola Castle became the summer residence of Pope Benedict XIII, known as Papa Luna. This pontiff lived in the castle during his exile in the 15th century and left an indelible mark on the history of the city.
